Position Summary
We seek an experienced Building Automation Controls Service Technician to join our team in Manassas, VA. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in building automation controls, specifically related to HVAC equipment in commercial buildings such as data centers, labs, hospitals, and facilities with central plants. This role requires technical expertise in operating and troubleshooting control systems for large HVAC equipment, including chillers and other applied systems.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in building automation controls, specifically related to HVAC equipment in commercial buildings such as data centers, labs, hospitals, and facilities with central plants. This role requires technical expertise in operating and troubleshooting control systems for large HVAC equipment, including chillers and other applied systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform service, troubleshooting, and maintenance on building automation control systems for HVAC equipment in commercial buildings.
- Work with large, central plant HVAC systems, including chillers and applied equipment, to ensure optimal operation and energy efficiency.
- Respond to service calls and perform diagnostics to resolve issues with HVAC control systems.
- Collaborate with facility managers and engineers to implement control strategies for HVAC equipment in data centers, labs, hospitals, and similar commercial facilities.
- Maintain accurate service records and provide detailed reports on system performance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety protocols.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients, ensuring smooth operation of their building automation systems.
- 3+ years of experience working with building automation controls for HVAC systems in commercial environments, particularly data centers, labs, and hospitals.
- Familiarity with central plant operations, including chillers and large HVAC systems.
- Stable work history with proven experience in similar roles.
- Experience working with control systems from companies such as Trane, Siemens, Alberio, or other leading building automation firms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform diagnostics and repairs on complex control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control sequences.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Certifications related to HVAC control systems and building automation (preferred).
- Previous experience working with building automation systems in critical environments such as data centers.
- Knowledge of energy management systems and control strategies to optimize building performance.
- Experience with various control system platforms such as Trane Tracer, Siemens Apogee, or Johnson Controls Metasys.
