Job Summary
We seek a highly skilled Building Automation Technician with significant experience building automation controls for HVAC systems within commercial buildings. This role involves working with advanced systems, including chillers, boilers, and sizeable applied HVAC equipment, to support operations in critical environments such as data centers, hospitals, and labs. The ideal candidate should possess a stable work history and bring technical expertise in building automation systems to optimize and troubleshoot HVAC performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot building automation systems (BAS) for HVAC controls in commercial settings, including data centers, labs, and hospitals.
- Configure and program systems such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Johnson Controls Metasys, BACnet, ALC, and Alerton to ensure the optimal performance of HVAC equipment.
- Operate and service central plants, including chillers, boilers, and sizeable applied HVAC systems, ensuring efficient integration into the BAS.
- Collaborate with other mechanical and electrical teams to improve system functionality, conduct preventative maintenance, and respond to service calls.
- Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam to design, document, and modify control systems.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with building automation systems (BAS) for HVAC controls in commercial buildings (data centers, hospitals, or laboratories preferred).
- Strong proficiency in programming and operating systems such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Johnson Controls Metasys, BACnet, ALC, and Alerton.
- Solid understanding of HVAC equipment (chillers, boilers, air handling units) and how they integrate into BAS.
- Experience using industry-standard software like AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Trimble AutoBid to support control system design and documentation.
- Local and stable work history demonstrating consistent employment in similar roles within the building automation or commercial mechanical sector.
