Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Commercial HVAC Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in San Diego. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in HVAC systems and will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of commercial HVAC systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, design, and optimize HVAC systems for commercial buildings.
  2. Use CAD and other design software to create detailed drawings and specifications.
  3. Collaborate with the project team to understand and meet project requirements.
  4. Perform load and energy calculations, and prepare design specifications and reports.
  5. Ensure design compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
  6. Participate in client meetings and provide expert guidance on HVAC system design.
  7. Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders during all stages of project development.
  8. Review and analyze architectural plans and blueprints.
  9. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving HVAC design issues in ongoing projects.
  10. Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in the HVAC industry.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  2. PE license is highly preferred.
  3. Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC design.
  4. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculation software.
  5. In-depth knowledge of HVAC design principles, codes, and standards.
  6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  9. Familiarity with energy-efficient HVAC design and sustainable building practices.
