Job Title: Construction Safety Coordinator
Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Job Summary

The Construction Safety Coordinator will oversee and ensure the implementation of safety protocols on our construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction safety, focusing on ground-up construction projects. This role requires a local candidate with a stable work history and the capability to teach the OSHA 30 class.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on construction sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Provide safety training and education to employees, including teaching the OSHA 30 class.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to promote a culture of safety.
  • Maintaining safety records and documentation ensures all incidents and near-misses are correctly reported.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to continually improve the company's safety program.
Qualifications
  • Must be a local candidate with a stable work history.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in commercial construction safety.
  • Experience working for general, mechanical, electrical, or plumbing contractors.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in ground-up construction projects, including hospitals, schools, airports, high-rises, hotels, and arenas.
  • OSHA 500 certification is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with safety management software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST).
  • Experience with safety programs in large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
