Job Summary
We seek a dynamic and experienced Controls Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Columbus, OH. This role offers the opportunity to lead and support advanced building automation and control system projects within the commercial mechanical construction sector. As the Assistant Project Manager, you will leverage your technical expertise to ensure successful project execution from design through commissioning. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in controls and project management and a desire to contribute to industry-leading projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager in overseeing the implementation of building automation and control systems, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Utilize your knowledge of BACnet and DDC controls to assist in designing and integrating building automation systems, including Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, ALC, Johnson Controls Metasys, and Schneider Electric systems.
  • Created and reviewed system designs using AutoCAD and Visio, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Work closely with internal teams and subcontractors to facilitate smooth project delivery and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and communication.
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting during installation and commissioning phases to resolve issues and ensure system performance meets client expectations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in controls or building automation systems with a stable and local work history.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. EIT or PE licensure is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Visio and a solid understanding of BACnet and DDC controls.
  • Familiarity with leading control systems such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, and similar platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and clients to ensure project success.
