Director of Mechanical Construction

Job Summary: 

We seek a highly experienced Director of Mechanical Construction to lead and oversee significant mechanical construction projects in a dynamic and evolving industry. This leadership role is pivotal in steering projects such as data centers, educational institutions, laboratories, and hospitals. Ideal candidates will have a robust background in plumbing or piping, a proven track record with major mechanical contractors, and the ability to mentor and enhance our project management team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Project Oversight: Direct and manage all phases of mechanical construction projects, ensuring they meet specified standards, timelines, and budget requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Provide the project management team leadership, oversight, and professional development. Cultivate a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the upper management level to improve operational procedures and project outcomes.
  • Industry Engagement: Maintain and enhance relationships with key industry players, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure and support project execution.
  • Quality Control: Uphold the highest quality and safety standards, ensuring compliance with internal protocols and external regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in project management within the mechanical construction sector, including significant exposure to large-scale projects such as data centers, schools, and hospitals.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software for project management, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Previous Employment: Experience with top-tier mechanical contractors is preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and scale highly effective teams.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage staff and interact with stakeholders.
