Job Title: HVAC & Plumbing Solutions Engineer

We are seeking an HVAC and plumbing Solutions Engineer to join our dynamic mechanical construction team in Honolulu, HI. In this role, you will design and implement mechanical solutions for commercial and industrial projects, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities
  • Develop and design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field teams to deliver cost-effective, energy-efficient solutions.
  • Conduct load calculations, system layouts, and equipment selection to meet project requirements.
  • Perform site evaluations and provide technical support during construction to ensure system performance and compliance.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities to improve efficiency while reducing costs.
  • Stay current with industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies to ensure best practices in mechanical design.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design for commercial construction.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and engineering software for mechanical system design.
  • Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, UPC, IMC, and local building codes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
  • Effective communication skills for client interactions, presentations, and technical discussions.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification.
  • Experience with design-build and integrated project delivery (IPD).
  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices and LEED certification.
Location & Work Environment
  • Based in Honolulu, HI, serving projects throughout the island.
  • Office and field-based role with occasional on-site visits.
