Job Overview
We seek a highly skilled and motivated Lead HVAC/Sheet Metal Installer to join our San Diego, CA, team. The ideal candidate will lead a team of installers in various commercial HVAC and sheet metal installation projects, focusing on RTUs, duct work, split systems, boilers, and other essential mechanical components. The Lead Installer will coordinate projects, ensure adherence to specifications, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee installation projects for commercial HVAC and sheet metal systems, ensuring proper execution and compliance with project specifications.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of installers, guiding best practices, troubleshooting, and safety protocols.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents to ensure accurate installations.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to achieve efficient workflows and problem-solving on job sites.
  • Perform measurements, layout, and sheet metal fabrication for custom duct work and system installations.
  • Ensure quality control on all completed work, conducting inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems and components as needed to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of completed work, including permits, inspections, and other necessary paperwork.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements and trends to improve installation practices and techniques continuously.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to exceed project milestones and customer expectations.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation and sheet metal work, with a strong background in RTUs, duct work, split systems, and boilers.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • EPA certification and a valid California HVAC technician license are required.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to remain adaptable on job sites.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy equipment and working at heights.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
