Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Director specializing in Preconstruction and Estimation to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, specifically in plumbing, piping, and HVAC systems for large-scale projects, including labs and mechanical piping heavy-focus jobs. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the preconstruction and estimating efforts for mechanical projects, focusing on plumbing, piping, and HVAC systems.
  • Collaborate with design teams, project managers, and clients to develop comprehensive project plans and cost estimates.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
  • Oversee the preparation of bid proposals, ensuring alignment with project requirements and company standards.
  • Conduct value engineering assessments to optimize project costs and improve efficiency.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and estimators, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
  • Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners to ensure competitive pricing and quality service.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, adjusting plans and estimates to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and mechanical engineering and construction advancements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • EIT or PE license preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience in design and engineering, project management, or preconstruction within the mechanical contracting industry.
  • Strong background in considerable project experience, particularly in plumbing, piping, and HVAC systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver accurate estimates under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for estimating and project management.
  • Stable work history with a track record of successful project delivery.
