Job Summary
We seek an experienced Mechanical Foreman/Special Projects Project Manager to join our Los Angeles, CA team. The ideal candidate will have a stable work history, extensive field experience in commercial HVAC systems, and proven expertise in managing special projects. This role requires a hands-on leader who can oversee the installation and servicing of mechanical systems and manage projects from inception to completion, including scheduling, change orders, and customer communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage special projects in commercial HVAC, focusing on piping systems, chillers, and applied mechanical equipment.
- Supervise field teams, ensuring quality installation and service of mechanical systems.
- Oversee all aspects of project management, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
- Coordinate with building owners, general contractors, and stakeholders to meet project specifications and timelines.
- Prepare and manage change orders, job schedules, and documentation for projects.
- Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication regarding project progress and needs.
- Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget, resolving any issues.
- Local candidates with a stable work history are preferred.
- At least 5-7 years of commercial HVAC fieldwork experience, preferably as a sheet metal or pipe fitter installer.
- Experience with applied mechanical equipment, such as chillers and piping systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, overseeing HVAC installation and service projects.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and change orders.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar is a plus.
