Job Summary
We seek an experienced Mechanical Foreman/Special Projects Project Manager to join our Los Angeles, CA team. The ideal candidate will have a stable work history, extensive field experience in commercial HVAC systems, and proven expertise in managing special projects. This role requires a hands-on leader who can oversee the installation and servicing of mechanical systems and manage projects from inception to completion, including scheduling, change orders, and customer communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage special projects in commercial HVAC, focusing on piping systems, chillers, and applied mechanical equipment.
  • Supervise field teams, ensuring quality installation and service of mechanical systems.
  • Oversee all aspects of project management, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
  • Coordinate with building owners, general contractors, and stakeholders to meet project specifications and timelines.
  • Prepare and manage change orders, job schedules, and documentation for projects.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication regarding project progress and needs.
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget, resolving any issues.
Qualifications
  • Local candidates with a stable work history are preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years of commercial HVAC fieldwork experience, preferably as a sheet metal or pipe fitter installer.
  • Experience with applied mechanical equipment, such as chillers and piping systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, overseeing HVAC installation and service projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and change orders.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
Education & Certifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar is a plus.
