We are currently seeking a local, dedicated, and experienced Commercial Plumbing/HVAC Preconstruction Engineer to join our team.
Job Description:
As a Preconstruction Engineer, your role will be critical in the early stages of our projects. You will provide detailed analysis, estimations, and innovative engineering solutions to ensure that our projects are feasible, cost-effective, and of the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed analysis of project specifications and develop comprehensive engineering and cost estimates.
- Coordinate closely with sales and engineering teams to provide value-engineered solutions that meet client needs and budget requirements.
- Support the sales process with technical expertise and accurate estimation of project costs.
- Participate in preconstruction meetings to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and client expectations.
- Review project designs and provide recommendations for cost savings and quality improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and local building codes and regulations.
- Mentor and guide junior team members in estimation and preconstruction processes.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related field.
- EIT or PE license is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, estimating, and sales related to commercial HVAC and plumbing.
- Proven experience with large commercial projects, including schools, hospitals, high-rises, hotels, data centers, and labs.
- Proficiency in value engineering and cost estimation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Stable work history.
