Job Summary
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Technical Engineering Manager to lead our Commercial HVAC engineering team in Orange County, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC engineering, particularly with large commercial applied equipment, and possess leadership qualities to manage and mentor a team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HVAC engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Design, evaluate, and oversee the installation of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and seamless integration with other building systems.
- Conduct detailed HVAC system analysis, including load calculations, energy modeling, and system optimization to ensure efficiency and performance.
- Review and approve project documentation, including schematics and specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to align project goals and deliver solutions that meet client expectations.
- Participate in value engineering and cost estimation processes to optimize project budgets without compromising quality or performance.
- Ensure all projects meet or exceed relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Must be a resident with a stable and verifiable employment history in Orange County, CA.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC engineering, with at least two years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong expertise in HVAC design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and estimating software.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with advanced HVAC technologies and sustainable building practices.
- In-depth knowledge of local and national building codes and regulations.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
