Shorten Your Search with Recruiters

You may be thinking, 'why wouldn't I just directly apply for the position through the company's website?' Well, here's why.

Companies, especially in the commercial HVAC and Plumbing industry, receive a surplus of applications and resumes daily. The hiring managers sift through multiple resumes a day and are looking for a reason to say 'no.' If your resume is not up to par with their standards, your application will get brushed aside, and you probably won't hear an answer back. So, you'll be left waiting to listen to a 'yes' or a 'no.' And no one likes waiting, right?

Either you've applied to one of the job postings, or you found it on LinkedIn, etc. Your resume is typically reviewed between 1-2 days, and it's decided if you could be a good fit or not. If not, it's kept on file if there's potential for you to be hired in another position in the future, and you're sent an email regarding this information.

On the other hand, if you're selected, you'll be contacted via email or call, explaining that there are positions readily available. Recruiters will explain what each role entails and what perks come along with the job. Therefore, the positions will be hand-selected just for you. Another great plus is the resume process. Recruiters review your resume and assist you with presenting your resume in the best way possible. They advise you to explain your past work experience and provide details on what roles you performed in your previous jobs to display a new resume with extensive details warranted for your desired position. Once your resume is complete, it's sent over to the contractor. Most recruiters have set up and maintained relationships with each company they work with. As a result, your resume is coming from a trusted source.

Next, recruiters prep you for the interview! Meeting with potential bosses can be nerve-wracking, but with the help of recruiters, you can be prepared for what's to come. You'll be versed on what to wear, what questions may arise, and how to tackle the difficult ones (such as salary and why you left your previous job).

Once the interview process is completed, recruiters follow up with the company and update if the employer wants to hire you.
