Position Summary
As the Commercial HVAC Engineering Manager, you will oversee the design, specification, and implementation of HVAC systems in commercial environments. This role combines technical expertise with leadership abilities, requiring advanced knowledge of large-tonnage HVAC systems and applied HVAC experience. The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in sales and technical sales.
Location
This role is based in our Orange County, CA office. Candidates must be local, as remote work is not an option for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers in designing, specifying, and implementing HVAC systems for commercial projects
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to develop technical sales strategies and materials
- Oversee all stages of project development, from initial client meetings to system commissioning
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Provide technical expertise in HVAC system design, particularly large-tonnage systems
- Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth
- Actively participate in customer-facing activities, including presentations and technical consultations
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years experience in HVAC equipment design and engineering specification
- At least four years in a leadership role overseeing HVAC design
- Advanced knowledge of applied and large-tonnage HVAC systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Sales, technical sales, and specification experience preferred
- Stable work history demonstrating reliability and career progression
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Must be a local candidate residing in or willing to relocate to Orange County, CA
