Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, VRFS, AHUs, and large package units in commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, including inspecting and replacing air filters, cleaning coils, and lubricating parts
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in HVAC systems, identifying the root cause of the problem and proposing solutions
- Install and commission new HVAC systems, ensuring that they meet industry standards and manufacturer specifications
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, fans, belts, and thermostats
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including time spent on each task, materials used, and any issues encountered
- Keep up-to-date with the latest industry developments, technologies, and best practices, attending training sessions and workshops as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining the scope of work, providing updates on progress, and answering any questions they may have
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship in HVAC systems preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in commercial HVAC service, including experience with chillers, boilers, VRFS, AHUs, and large package units
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and their components, as well as a thorough understanding of industry standards and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain thorough and accurate records of all work performed
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, team members, and other stakeholders
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling and recovery
