Job Description:
We seek a detail-oriented and experienced MEP Estimator to join our dynamic team in New York City. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in providing accurate cost estimates for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems on large commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve potential issues.
- Use specialized software, such as Trimble AutoBid or similar, for accurate and efficient estimating processes.
- Assess the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
- Maintain a database of historical data to be used for future estimates.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in MEP estimating.
Qualifications:
- Must be local to New York City.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum three years of experience in MEP estimating, specifically in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
- Proven experience with large commercial projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Trimble AutoBid or similar.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Stable work history, demonstrating reliability and dedication.
