We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Plumbing/HVAC Estimator to join our team in San Diego, CA. This is a full-time, in-house role that demands a candidate with a stable, local work history and at least 5 years of experience in commercial plumbing and HVAC estimating. Proficiency with Trimble Autobid or similar on-screen takeoff (OST) software is required. Candidates with project experience in labs, high-tech facilities, hospitals, and the pharmaceutical industry will be prioritized.
Responsibilities:
Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for commercial plumbing and HVAC projects based on construction drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
Use Trimble Autobid or similar OST software to produce accurate and competitive estimates.
Evaluate and analyze plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bid estimates for projects.
Compile itemized lists and estimates for material and labor requirements.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Maintain relationships with key vendors; ensuring we receive the best price and service for each project.
Provide consultation on project planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.) as necessary.
Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project meetings as required.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of commercial plumbing and HVAC estimating experience.
Proficiency in Trimble Autobid or similar OST software.
Prior experience with labs, high-tech facilities, hospitals, and pharmaceutical projects is highly desirable.
Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and attention to detail.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
