Job Overview:

We are in search of an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. The successful candidate will bring expertise in electrical system design, a focus on HVAC and plumbing engineering projects, and strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale projects, including schools, colleges, hospitals, labs, and data centers.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage the electrical design process for HVAC and plumbing systems on large-scale commercial and institutional projects.
  • Design Software Proficiency: Utilize CAD and Revit for the design and documentation of electrical systems.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers within the electrical engineering team.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and complete designs meeting client requirements and industry standards.
  • Quality Control: Oversee quality control for all electrical project designs and documentation.
  • Business Development: Participate in business development activities, including client meetings, proposal preparation, and project presentations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and local codes and regulations in all electrical designs.
  • Project Management: Manage project timelines, ensuring all deliverables are met on schedule.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
  • Licensure: PE license in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing electrical design, with at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Project Diversity: Proven experience in commercial and institutional projects, including schools, colleges, hospitals, labs, and data centers.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in CAD and Revit software for electrical system design.
  • Code Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of local building codes and regulations related to electrical systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Location: Must be based in Los Angeles, CA.
