Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Commercial Building Automation Sales/Estimating Specialist in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will possess a stable work history, a profound understanding of commercial building automation systems (BAS), and a proven track record in estimating projects. This role involves close collaboration with clients, understanding their unique needs, and delivering accurate and competitive estimates for building automation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough analysis of project specifications, blueprints, and client requirements to develop accurate and comprehensive estimates for commercial building automation projects.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities, effectively presenting the company's capabilities and solutions to potential clients.
- Utilize a deep understanding of building automation systems to assess project scope, requirements, and potential challenges, ensuring the delivery of accurate and realistic estimates.
- Work closely with clients to comprehend their specific needs, offering technical expertise and recommendations for optimal building automation solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to commercial building automation.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to ensure a seamless transition from sales to project execution.
- Provide support during the project handover process, communicating effectively with internal teams to guarantee a smooth transition from estimating to implementation.
- Participate actively in regular team meetings, sharing insights and contributing to the continuous improvement of estimating processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial building automation estimating.
- Strong knowledge of building automation systems, including field installation services and programming.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with the local San Diego commercial construction market is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
