Job Summary:
Our dynamic team in Omaha, NE, is on the lookout for a Building Automation Technician with a keen eye for detail and a passion for efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of hands-on experience in building automation and control systems, specializing in the installation, maintenance, commissioning, and programming of systems across various commercial environments, such as healthcare facilities, educational institutions, transportation hubs, and research laboratories. A strong preference will be given to individuals holding a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and possessing certifications in leading automation platforms like Tridium Niagara, Niagara 4, or similar.
Responsibilities:
- Execute comprehensive service and maintenance on building automation control systems, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Lead programming efforts for automation projects to meet specific energy management and operational needs.
- Quickly identify and resolve issues with automation systems, employing advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Engage directly with clients to capture their requirements, deliver solutions that exceed expectations, and foster lasting relationships.
- Keep meticulous records of all service activities, including detailed reports, operational logs, and system documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of project managers, engineers, and technicians to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Stay current with industry certifications, particularly those related to building automation technologies and software.
- Adhere to all applicable codes, standards, and safety guidelines in the execution of work.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of building automation and controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is highly desirable.
- Proven expertise in the installation, maintenance, commissioning, and programming of building automation systems.
- Certifications in Tridium Niagara, Niagara 4, or equivalent are highly valued.
- Experience working in varied commercial settings, including healthcare, education, airports, and laboratories.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a strong aptitude for technical troubleshooting.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be a local candidate or willing to relocate to Omaha, NE, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
