Responsibilities:

As a Commercial HVAC Start-Up Technician, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Perform start-up and commissioning of commercial HVAC systems in new and retrofit installations, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

2. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and installation teams to ensure proper system configuration, calibration, and integration.

3. Conduct thorough inspections and testing of HVAC systems, identifying and resolving any performance or operational issues.

4. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to accurately assess HVAC system requirements.

5. Assist in the installation and configuration of control systems, including programming, setup, and testing of equipment.

6. Provide exceptional customer service, promptly addressing client inquiries and concerns, and maintaining strong relationships with clients.

7. Complete detailed and accurate start-up and commissioning reports for clients and management, documenting work performed, system settings, and recommendations for future maintenance.

8. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, advancements in technology, and best practices to maintain a high level of expertise in the field.

9. Collaborate effectively with team members, sharing knowledge and providing support as needed.

10. Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or vocational training in HVAC is strongly preferred.

2. 5-15 years of experience in commercial HVAC systems, with a focus on start-up and commissioning, including VRF systems.

3. Valid EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification.

4. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control components.

5. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.

6. Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.

8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

9. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

10. Willingness to participate in on-call rotation, as needed.
