Position Summary

The Commercial Mechanical Estimating Specialist will prepare precise cost estimates for HVAC and plumbing systems in commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both HVAC and plumbing, with extensive experience in large project estimating. This role involves utilizing tools like Trimble AutoBid and Bluebeam to ensure the accuracy and reliability of estimates.

Location

This role is based in our San Diego, CA office. Candidates must be local, as remote work is unavailable for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for HVAC and plumbing systems in large commercial projects.
  • Utilize Trimble AutoBid and Bluebeam for estimating and document management.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and contractual documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, project managers, and engineers to obtain quotations and technical specifications
  • Analyze risks and opportunities that could impact project costs
  • Work closely with sales and project management teams to provide estimations on time
  • Stay current on industry best practices, technologies, and pricing trends

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing estimating
  • Proven experience with large project estimating
  • Familiarity with Trimble AutoBid and Bluebeam
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
  • Stable work history demonstrating reliability and professionalism
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be a local candidate residing in or willing to relocate to San Diego, CA
