Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Mechanical Inspector/Project Manager to join our team in Honolulu, HI. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional with a solid background in HVAC and plumbing design, construction project management, and mechanical inspection. As a key member of our team, you will manage HVAC and plumbing design and construction projects, inspect mechanical systems, and ensure the proper execution of plans in line with local codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct inspections of HVAC and plumbing systems in commercial buildings, ensuring compliance with design, contract specifications, and local codes.
  2. Manage HVAC and plumbing design and construction projects from inception to completion.
  3. Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  4. Review design plans and specifications, and approve materials and workmanship.
  5. Prepare and submit inspection reports, detailing findings and recommendations.
  6. Coordinate with local regulatory bodies and obtain necessary permits and licenses.
  7. Resolve issues and disputes related to design, construction, and mechanical systems inspection.
  8. Stay updated with local codes and regulations, industry trends, and advancements in HVAC and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design and construction project management.
  3. Must be local to Honolulu, HI, or willing to relocate.
  4. Demonstrable ability to provide a stable work history.
  5. Proficient in using project management software, CAD software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Thorough understanding of local building codes, standards, and regulations.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  9. Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Desirable

  1. Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification is a plus.
  2. Prior experience in a mechanical inspector role is highly preferred.
