Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Mechanical Inspector/Project Manager to join our team in Seattle, WA. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a robust background in HVAC and plumbing design and construction project management, as well as mechanical inspection. As a valuable member of our team, you will manage HVAC and plumbing design and construction projects, perform inspections on mechanical systems, and ensure the accurate execution of plans according to local codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct inspections of HVAC and plumbing systems in commercial buildings, verifying compliance with design, contract specifications, and local codes.
  2. Oversee HVAC and plumbing design and construction projects from inception through to completion.
  3. Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  4. Review and approve design plans, specifications, materials, and workmanship.
  5. Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports, highlighting findings and recommendations.
  6. Coordinate with local regulatory bodies and secure necessary permits and licenses.
  7. Resolve issues and disputes related to design, construction, and mechanical systems inspection.
  8. Stay current with local codes and regulations, industry trends, and advancements in HVAC and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design and construction project management.
  3. Must be local to Seattle, WA, or willing to relocate.
  4. Demonstrable ability to provide a stable work history.
  5. Proficiency in using project management software, CAD software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Thorough understanding of local building codes, standards, and regulations.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  9. Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Desirable

  1. Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification is a plus.
  2. Prior experience in a mechanical inspector role is highly preferred.
