Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and remove insulation on commercial mechanical systems, pipes, ductwork, and other mechanical systems to reduce energy costs and protect systems from external elements.
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints to understand the requirements of a project.
- Determine the type and thickness of insulation to be used based on the specific application and project requirements.
- Use hand and power tools to measure and cut insulation materials to the required dimensions.
- Apply sealants or adhesives to help secure insulation in place.
- Ensure all installations follow local, state, and federal regulations.
- Inspect and test insulation for defects or breaches to ensure optimum efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers, other tradespeople, and team members to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, ensuring all safety protocols are strictly adhered to.
Qualifications:
- Must be local to Jacksonville, NC.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial mechanical/piping insulation.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
- Familiarity with various insulation materials and application techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- A stable work history, demonstrating consistency and reliability.
