Job Description:
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Plumbing Estimator to join our dynamic team in Hawaii. This role is ideal for someone who is locally based and deeply understands the commercial plumbing sector in the Hawaiian market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed cost estimates and proposals for commercial plumbing projects, ensuring competitiveness and accuracy.
- Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Assess the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Interface with project managers and other stakeholders to provide a comprehensive bid package.
- Maintain a working knowledge of market conditions, including pricing, competition, and construction methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Must be a resident of Hawaii.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial plumbing estimating.
- Prior hands-on experience in plumbing is essential.
- Proven track record of stability in work history.
- Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems and materials.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Education or certifications in plumbing, construction management, or a related field would be advantageous.
