Overview:
We are seeking a Construction Finance Specialist to strengthen our finance team, focusing on managing financial tasks specific to the construction industry. This role involves supporting financial management, administering contracts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying financial issues and opportunities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in various financial tasks including monthly bank reconciliations, job cost management, preparing Project Review spreadsheets, journal entries, and cash-flow updates.
- Support the finance manager in producing timely financial reports, including project reviews, work-in-progress reports, overhead expenses, and financial statements.
- Manage client contracts, ensuring all related items such as certificates of insurance, preliminary notices, change orders, and insurance enrollments are accurately tracked and processed.
- Maintain up-to-date business licenses and permits and manage subcontractor agreements and documentation.
- Oversee the certified payroll process for public works projects, ensuring compliance with relevant wage and documentation requirements.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of financial processes related to construction projects, including contract management and job costing.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and reconciliation tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to the changing needs of the business.
- Local and stable work history, reflecting a commitment to excellence in financial management within the construction sector.
Preferred:
- Experience in overseeing certified payroll and compliance for public works projects.
- Familiarity with managing 401K processes and other employee benefit programs.
