Job Title: Commercial HVAC and Plumbing Design Engineer

Location: Orange County, CA

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial HVAC and Plumbing Design Engineer for our Orange County office. The ideal candidate will have a stable work history and proven expertise in the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for large-scale commercial projects. This includes, but is not limited to, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, airports, and high-rise buildings. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, and Bluebeam is essential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement HVAC and plumbing systems for various commercial projects.
  2. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure the seamless integration of HVAC and plumbing designs.
  3. Create and revise technical drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit).
  4. Use modeling software (Trane Trace, Carrier HAP) for energy analysis and system optimization.
  5. Review and interpret project specifications, proposals, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
  6. Perform load and system calculations to verify design integrity.
  7. Utilize Bluebeam for document management and collaboration.
  8. Ensure designs comply with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  9. Communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and expectations.
  10. Manage project deadlines and deliverables, ensuring all design work is completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications:

  1. BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field required.
  2. EIT certification or PE license in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  3. Proven experience in HVAC and Plumbing design for commercial projects, particularly hospitals, schools, airports, and high rises.
  4. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, and Bluebeam.
  5. Comprehensive understanding of local building codes and regulations.
  6. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Must be based in Orange County, CA.
  9. Stable work history demonstrating reliability and dedication.
