We are currently on the lookout for a skilled and observant Electrical Journeyman to undertake installation and maintenance tasks on our clients' electrical systems in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will be able to conduct thorough inspections, diagnose issues accurately, and deliver solutions with minimal oversight. You should be adept at executing a wide range of electrical tasks and possess the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
As an Electrical Journeyman, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical installations and repairs for our clients. You will be expected to have a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of electrical work and a dedication to continuous improvement and learning. This position also involves mentoring Apprentice Electricians, sharing knowledge, and fostering skill development within our team.
Responsibilities:
- Always carry standard equipment and parts to ensure preparedness for any task.
- Travel between job sites as required, effectively managing your time and resources.
- Conduct detailed inspections and assessments, engaging with clients to understand and address their electrical needs.
- Determine the most appropriate solutions considering the project specifics.
- Install and maintain electrical components such as wires, plugs, panelboards, switchgear, and switchboards.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical machines.
- Manage inventory levels to maintain an adequate supply of necessary materials.
- Document the time and materials expended on each project for accurate cost calculation.
- Comply with all relevant safety standards and regulations, promoting a safe work environment.
- Deliver professional, courteous, and timely services to all clients.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an apprenticeship program.
- Valid Oregon state license to practice as an Electrical Journeyman, if applicable.
- Additional certification or degree in a related field is beneficial.
- Strong mathematical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on quality and safety.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical fitness, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in tight spaces.
