Overview:
We're looking for an Energy Solutions Engineer to join our team in Seattle, WA, dedicated to improving building energy performance through innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. This role will involve tackling diverse projects aimed at enhancing energy utilization and promoting sustainable practices in building operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design and refine control sequences to enhance the energy efficiency of high-performance buildings.
- Execute field commissioning and adopt monitoring-based commissioning approaches for ongoing efficiency optimization.
- Analyze building operation and utility data to uncover opportunities for energy savings.
- Conduct comprehensive energy assessments and audits, facilitating EnergyStar certifications for eligible projects.
- Play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of energy projects, including measurement and verification activities to quantify savings.
- Utilize fault detection software to identify and rectify energy inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote energy management practices and integrate renewable energy systems where feasible.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience with ASHRAE energy calculations, understanding of building mechanical systems, and familiarity with building codes and standards.
- Proficiency in computer programming for data analysis and visualization, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and inform decision-making processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously.
- A local candidate or willing to relocate to Seattle, WA.
Preferred:
- Professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Professional Engineer (PE), or in the process of obtaining.
- A strong foundation in Direct Digital Control (DDC) theory, advanced energy management practices, and knowledge of renewable energy technologies.
