Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced HVAC-BAS (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning - Building Automation Systems) Start-Up/Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC start-up and service for RTUs (Rooftop Units), split systems, VRFs (Variable Refrigerant Flow), and controls installation. Experience in service, start-up, point to point, graphics, and programming is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of HVAC systems including RTUs, split systems, and VRFs.
- Handle controls installation, adjusting settings to optimize performance and ensure system stability.
- Perform start-up procedures on new HVAC systems, ensuring proper operation and compliance with design specifications.
- Conduct point to point testing, verifying the correct operation of controls and systems.
- Review and interpret system blueprints, specifications, and performance data to determine configuration and purpose of system components.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining effective communication with clients and team members.
- Stay updated on industry standards and safety regulations to ensure work is performed to code.
- Assist in training junior technicians, fostering a positive learning environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be local to Cedar Rapids, IA.
- Stable work history demonstrating reliability and dedication.
- Possession of EPA Universal Certification.
- Proven experience in HVAC start-up and service, particularly with RTUs, split systems, and VRFs.
- Experience in controls installation, start-up, and service.
- Knowledge of point to point testing and graphics preferred.
- Familiarity with programming is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot and repair issues promptly.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
