Job Title: HVAC/Plumbing Preconstruction Manager
Overview: This position is essential for a leading firm in the commercial mechanical construction industry, focusing on HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial facilities. The role demands a strategic approach to preconstruction processes, including system design, planning, and coordination, to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preconstruction phase with a focus on HVAC and plumbing systems, ensuring designs meet client needs and industry standards.
- Offer engineering expertise to enhance project planning and execution.
- Review technical documents with attention to detail, ensuring compliance with building codes and standards.
- Engage in business development activities, providing technical insights and proposals.
- Coordinate with various teams to achieve project objectives and deadlines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction, with a strong background in HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Proficient in California Building Codes, ASHRAE Standards, and familiar with OSHPD/HCAI requirements.
- Experience in designing and managing projects across various sectors, including healthcare and education.
- Leadership skills with experience in supervising engineering staff.
- Effective communication skills for client interactions and team collaborations.
Preferred:
- EIT/PE Licensure.
- Experience with BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
- Knowledge in sustainable design practices and energy modeling.
