Position Summary:
As the HVAC Superintendent, you'll spearhead the daily functions related to HVAC piping and sheet metal installation projects. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring timely, budget-aligned, and quality-assured project completion. Candidates with a robust and consistent work history in the Norfolk vicinity and a track record of supervising expansive commercial and industrial piping ventures will be at an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and supervise all HVAC piping and sheet metal installation undertakings on designated projects.
- Command a team of professionals, bestowing leadership, direction, and mentorship.
- Guarantee all tasks align with project specifications, budgetary constraints, and timelines.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and relevant stakeholders to streamline operations.
- Implement rigorous safety measures and uphold superior quality control standards.
- Analyze and decode blueprints, project specifications, and contract documents.
- Undertake on-site evaluations and quality assurance checks.
- Address and resolve on-field challenges and disputes, interacting with engineers, architects, and proprietors when required.
- Draft and present progress updates, along with other mandated reports.
- Play a pivotal role in new team members' recruitment, training, and professional development.
Requirements:
- A decade or more of hands-on experience in HVAC piping and sheet metal installations.
- Demonstrable prowess in directing major commercial and industrial piping projects.
- A consistent, local employment trajectory within the HVAC domain.
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and industry-leading practices.
- Well-acquainted with municipal, state, and federal construction codes and norms.
- Stellar leadership, communication, and relational skills.
- Adeptness in scrutinizing and elucidating blueprints and technical schematics.
- Innate problem-solving acumen complemented by meticulous attention to detail.
- Possession of a valid driving license is mandatory.
- OSHA certification is an added advantage.
