Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Systems Technician to oversee the initiation and fine-tuning of mechanical and plumbing systems for commercial construction projects. This pivotal role involves ensuring systems meet or surpass performance expectations from start-up through to commissioning and final project handover. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a profound ability to manage both systems and teams efficiently, adhering to the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the start-up and troubleshooting of mechanical and plumbing systems during the construction and commissioning phases.
- Conduct pre-functional and performance verification tests to ensure system readiness and compliance with project specifications.
- Provide leadership and oversight to a team of technicians, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, with further qualifications in HVAC or related fields highly beneficial.
- At least ten years of relevant field experience, with a strong background in mechanical system maintenance and service.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to oversee technical teams in a construction environment.
- Familiarity with standard industry certifications and training, including but not limited to EPA-608 and OSHA 30-hour certifications.
Preferred:
- Experience with large-scale commercial or government construction projects.
- Valid factory start-up certifications, indicating specialized expertise in mechanical systems.
