Position Overview:

The Materials Forensic Engineer will investigate material failures, assess root causes, and offer expert opinions on prevention and remedies. This position requires a deep understanding of material behaviors, properties, and environmental factors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct detailed material failure analyses through physical inspections, laboratory testing, and analytical methods.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and legal professionals in understanding and addressing material concerns.
  3. Produce comprehensive reports detailing findings, methodologies, and recommendations for clients and legal entities.
  4. Serve as an expert witness in litigation cases when required.
  5. Keep up-to-date with advancements in materials engineering and forensic methodologies.
  6. Attend professional seminars, workshops, and conferences to expand knowledge and continuously network with professionals in the field.
  7. Offer training and workshops to junior staff and interns, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in forensic engineering or materials analysis.
  • Proven track record of stability in previous employment.
  • Proficiency with tools and software used in materials analysis and testing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel locally for on-site investigations when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Materials Engineering or related field.
  • Certification or licensure in a relevant engineering domain.
  • Experience as an expert witness in legal cases.
