Position Summary
The Fabrication/Shop Manager oversees all aspects of our fabrication shop, including plumbing, piping, and sheet metal fabrication projects. The role requires deep expertise in mechanical fabrication, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the fabrication shop, focusing on plumbing, piping, and sheet metal projects.
- Utilize Trimble Fabrication software for workflow optimization, project planning, and reporting.
- Manage a team of skilled technicians and fabricators.
- Ensure all projects are executed according to design specifications and quality standards.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines.
- Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Train and mentor staff and identify opportunities for professional development.
- Coordinate with other departments and clients as needed for project success.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 9+ years of experience in mechanical fabrication, including at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Familiarity with Trimble Fabrication software or similar fabrication software is essential.
- Proven track record in managing commercial plumbing, piping, and sheet metal fabrication projects.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Problem-solving solid capabilities and attention to detail.
