Location: San Jose, CA - Strong preference for local candidates or candidates willing to relocate permanently to the San Jose area.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an accredited university.
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) or PE (Professional Engineer) license in California is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD and Revit for design and modeling tasks.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in plumbing design for commercial projects, particularly in hospitals, schools, and data centers.
- A stable work history that reflects professional development and reliability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop detailed plumbing designs for commercial projects, ensuring compliance with engineering principles, local codes, and industry standards.
- Use CAD and Revit for creating design drawings, schematics, and 3D models.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams for integrated project solutions, including architects and electrical and mechanical engineers.
- Participate in project meetings, providing design insights, updates, and recommendations.
- Perform load calculations, sizing, and specifications for plumbing systems and components.
- Review project requirements and assess materials, manpower, and time needed for completion.
- Ensure design documentation is aligned with project goals and client needs.
- Contribute to the project bidding process, including preparing design specifications and cost estimates.
