The Preconstruction Director will lead and manage all preconstruction phase activities for large-scale mechanical construction projects. This role involves collaboration with clients, architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure project feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with the company's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Development:
Lead the planning and development of preconstruction strategies.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Budgeting and Cost Estimation:
Develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for mechanical construction projects.
Analyze and evaluate bids from subcontractors and vendors.
Design Management:
Oversee the design process, ensuring that mechanical systems meet project specifications and sustainability standards.
Coordinate with architects and engineers to integrate mechanical systems into overall building design.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, and other stakeholders.
Present proposals and updates to clients and company leadership.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor a team of preconstruction professionals.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical construction, focusing on preconstruction activities.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and their integration into large construction projects.
Proficient in construction management software and tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
