Job Title: Preconstruction Director

Location: Honolulu, HI

Job Summary:

The Preconstruction Director will lead and manage all preconstruction phase activities for large-scale mechanical construction projects. This role involves collaboration with clients, architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure project feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with the company's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Development:
    • Lead the planning and development of preconstruction strategies.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
    • Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  1. Budgeting and Cost Estimation:
    • Develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for mechanical construction projects.
    • Analyze and evaluate bids from subcontractors and vendors.
  1. Design Management:
    • Oversee the design process, ensuring that mechanical systems meet project specifications and sustainability standards.
    • Coordinate with architects and engineers to integrate mechanical systems into overall building design.
  1. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices.
  1. Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, and other stakeholders.
    • Present proposals and updates to clients and company leadership.
  1. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of preconstruction professionals.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical construction, focusing on preconstruction activities.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and their integration into large construction projects.
  • Proficient in construction management software and tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in sustainable construction practices.
  • Familiarity with the construction landscape and regulations in Honolulu, HI.
  • PMP or similar project management certification.
