Job Overview: We are seeking a diligent and experienced Preconstruction Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate must be local with a stable work history and a comprehensive understanding of commercial HVAC and plumbing design. This role involves a significant amount of sales, estimating, and project management tasks. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our projects are estimated accurately, designed optimally, and executed effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Provide preconstruction services, including reviewing project plans, specifications, and contracts.
- Use your understanding of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems to develop optimal designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure that design objectives are met.
- Conduct cost estimation and value engineering tasks to support project budgeting.
- Drive sales efforts by working closely with the business development team.
- Oversee project management tasks, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our preconstruction processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A stable work history demonstrating your dedication and career development.
- Current resident of Honolulu, HI, or nearby area.
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification or Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
- Proven experience with commercial HVAC and plumbing design and engineering.
- Familiarity with value engineering, estimating, sales, and project management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
