Job Overview: We are currently seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Orange County team. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical design, with a focus on HVAC and plumbing engineering, and proven leadership skills. The successful candidate will have a background in large-scale projects, including schools, colleges, hospitals, labs, and data centers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the mechanical design process for HVAC and plumbing systems for large-scale commercial and institutional projects.
- Utilize CAD and Revit for design and documentation of systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and complete designs that meet client requirements and industry standards.
- Oversee quality control for all project designs and documentation.
- Participate in business development activities, including client meetings, proposal preparation, and project presentations.
- Ensure compliance with state and local codes and regulations.
- Manage project timelines, ensuring all deliverables are met on schedule.
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field required.
- PE license in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 10 years of HVAC and plumbing design experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in commercial and institutional projects, including schools, colleges, hospitals, labs, and data centers.
- Proficiency in CAD and Revit software.
- Comprehensive understanding of local building codes and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Must be based in Orange County, CA.
- Stable work history demonstrating reliability and dedication.
