Job Overview: We are currently seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Orange County team. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical design, with a focus on HVAC and plumbing engineering, and proven leadership skills. The successful candidate will have a background in large-scale projects, including schools, colleges, hospitals, labs, and data centers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the mechanical design process for HVAC and plumbing systems for large-scale commercial and institutional projects.
  2. Utilize CAD and Revit for design and documentation of systems.
  3. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
  4. Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and complete designs that meet client requirements and industry standards.
  5. Oversee quality control for all project designs and documentation.
  6. Participate in business development activities, including client meetings, proposal preparation, and project presentations.
  7. Ensure compliance with state and local codes and regulations.
  8. Manage project timelines, ensuring all deliverables are met on schedule.

Qualifications:

  1. BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field required.
  2. PE license in Mechanical Engineering required.
  3. Minimum of 10 years of HVAC and plumbing design experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  4. Proven experience in commercial and institutional projects, including schools, colleges, hospitals, labs, and data centers.
  5. Proficiency in CAD and Revit software.
  6. Comprehensive understanding of local building codes and regulations.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team.
  8. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  9. Must be based in Orange County, CA.
  10. Stable work history demonstrating reliability and dedication.
