Position Summary

The Senior HVAC Service/Start-Up Technician is responsible for the expert installation, service, and maintenance of large tonnage and applied HVAC equipment, focusing on chillers. This role demands extensive hands-on experience in the field, particularly in the commercial sector, and will involve start-up and ongoing service responsibilities.

Location

San Francisco, CA. Local candidates are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform start-up, service, and maintenance on large tonnage and applied HVAC equipment, including chillers.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure successful project completion.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks and inspections.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians.
  • Maintain accurate service logs and prepare detailed service reports for internal and client review.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in commercial HVAC service and start-up.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with large tonnage and applied equipment, particularly chillers.
  • Must hold a valid EPA Universal Certification.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
