Job Description:

We are looking for a local, highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a PE license to join our team in Seattle. This role is crucial for leading our design engineering team, overseeing complex commercial HVAC and plumbing projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate must have a stable work history and comprehensive mechanical engineering knowledge, particularly in the commercial sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead on engineering design projects, overseeing the entire life cycle from initial concept through completion.
  • Provide expert guidance and supervision to the design engineering team.
  • Develop and review HVAC and plumbing system designs, ensuring they meet all quality and code requirements.
  • Utilize CAD and Revit for designing and drafting project specifics.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to deliver well-integrated solutions.
  • Act as a mentor and technical resource for junior engineers and team members.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide consultative advice and to ensure project objectives and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) is required.
  • Must have a valid PE (Professional Engineer) license.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial HVAC and plumbing design engineering.
  • Must be proficient in CAD and Revit.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Must be local to the Seattle, WA area.
  • A stable work history is highly desirable.
